Who We Are

Our Story

Jen and Jared were enrolled in the same graduate program one year apart.  They probably sat in the same room on more than one occasion.  They didn’t know each other.

Flash forward 10 years later, and (let’s call it fate) Jared started working at the same school as Jen.

After his interview, Jared went home to his husband.  “Jen is going to be my best friend.”

Flash forward to 1 year later, and Eudaemonia Counseling & Consulting was born.

You know that feeling when you meet a kindred spirit?  That’s how our practice was born.

You see, we view the world in such a similar way.  Our goal is to help humans flourish, and we want to do that in a multitude of ways.  We are counselors, creatives, problem-solvers, visionaries, self-proclaimed comedians, and thought partners.  We envision a world where everyone has the tools to thrive, regardless of their circumstances.  We advocate for change.  For justice.  We work hard, but we laugh hard.  We don’t take life too seriously.  Sometimes, we cry together.

When it came time to name our practice, Jared asked Jen, “What is the one thing you wish for your children?”  Her response was that she just wanted them to be happy.  To flourish in life, whatever that might mean for them.

And that, my friends, is what eudaemonia means.  It’s the quest for a life well-lived, a life full of joy.

That is also our hope for you - whatever that may look like.  So whether you are an individual seeking counseling, an organization searching for support to be your best, or someone looking to find fulfillment in your career, we are your people.
